Write about a world in which one very desirable thing is possible, but a burden. Your protagonist has just found the solution. For example, in a reality where immortal life is the norm, your character has found the cure. What other desires can you think of that could backfire? As you’ll only have 500 words to tell your story, think about what point in time you want to focus on, whether it is the ‘Eureka’ moment or the fallout.

All responses to our prompts until August will be considered for inclusion in our upcoming print zine.
