Write a short scene in which a character has an experience that causes him or her to recall a similar past experience.  What reminds him or her of it?  What is startling about the revelation?  Feel free to juxtapose past and present — or don’t.

This prompt comes from The 3 A.M. Epiphany, a book of writing exercises I used in a flash fiction narrative course I took at Georgia State University.  I would highly recommend it for getting ideas for new stories, or to provide that little push you need with works in progress.
